OAU finally stops automatic employment of first class graduates

On Tuesday, the VC, Obafemi Awowolo University, Ile Ife, Prof. Bamitale Omole, while addressing journalists at a news conference to mark the 41st convocation ceremony of OAU, made the declaration. He noted that

the idea of giving automatic employment to First Class graduates by the university was designed in the 1980s to retain them because they were not always willing to remain in the academics.

His words: “The truth is that our First Class graduates should forget about automatic employment considering the dwindling resources and given the large number of students who obtain first class grade now.”….. students who hitherto wanted to graduate wt a First Class av now vowed to revolt by dropping to 2.2 jst to spite d VC…..
