Gareth Bale may have other views but Cristiano Ronaldo is now the most popular human being on the face of the Earth, at least according to Facebook.
Despite a recent (and relative) dip in form, Ronaldo's social media stock shows no sign of diminishing, with the Real Madrid superstar overtaking Shakira as the Facebook user with the most total profile likes -- 107 million and counting.
Just for comparison's sake, Ronaldo's page currently boasts approximately 29 million more likes than that of Lionel Messi.
However, it's not only Facebook where Ronaldo is ruling the roost, with the Portuguese forward also being the most followed sports personality on Twitter too, with 34 million eager disciples in tow -- a clear million ahead of the next guy on the list, Kaka (and 33 million more than the official Team Messi account).
Wow.
If you can think of a better, more scientifically accurate way to settle the whole "Who's best: Ronaldo or Messi?" debate once and for all, then we'd love to hear it.
