Oscar Pistorius Granted Bail, Sentence to Begin Oct 13

OscarPistorius has been granted bail. He will continue to live at his uncle's house, where he has been living for the past 18 months. Pistorius lawyer Barry Roux asks for 13-16 October for the sentencing dates. However, Judge Masipa said his sentencing starts on October 13, the judge said after granting him bail.

JudgeThokozile Masipa found Oscar Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide, the South African term for unintentionally, but unlawfully killing a person. It's akin to negligent killing. Friday's verdict comes a day after Judge Masipa cleared Pistorius of murder in the killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
The customary maximum prison sentence for culpable homicide is 15 years, but a typical sentence is five to eight years.

Sentencing could be weeks away and will come after more legal argument.
