President Maithripala Sirisena said scenes of local women running on stage to kiss Enrique Iglesias and throwing their underwear at him, was most uncivilized. He said the organizers should be whipped with
toxic stingray tails.
The concert was held in the capital Colombo. Whipping with the tails of stingrays was reportedly a punishment reserved for hardened criminals in medieval Sri Lanka, and is a popular expression of severe castigation.
Sirisena said: “This is most uncivilized behavior that goes against our culture. I don’t advocate that these uncivilized women who removed their brassieres should be beaten with toxic stingray tails, but the organizers of such an event should be.”….. d women mst av confused Iglesias 4 one of ds Nigerian mushroom artistes…..
