Man gets 4 years in jail for trading in Tramadol

Gerald Ohuruzo, 42, a Kano-based patent medicine dealer has been sentenced to a 4-year prison term with an option of N450,000 fine for stockpiling Tramadol Hydrochloride. He was arrested at his secret warehouse at

Sabon Gari market by officials of the NDLEA.

The drugs recovered from him, weighed 1,369kg. Tramadol, a prescription drug for pain relief, is one of the most abused drugs in northern Nigeria. NDLEA had earlier detected a warehouse where Tramadol weighing 6,264kg, was seized…… Ohuruzo says he’d rather go to jail than give d government a N450k they didn’t work for…….
