According to information from Defence Headquarters of Nigeria, curfew has been imposed on Maiduguri with immediate effect till further notice, as pursuit of retreating terrorists begin. Recall that Boko Haram militants invaded Monguno town and Maiduguri simultaneously during early hours of Sunday. According to sources, it has been a severe battle between the militants, soldiers and youths are kept struggling to stop them from taking over the city.
"Troops are repelling a simultaneous attack on Monguno and Maiduguri by terrorists. Coordinated Air and Land OPs being conducted," DHQ tweeted.
On Saturday night, Boko Haram killed 15 people in a village near Maiduguri, while struggling to have entrance into the city.
