Atiku Condemns Attacks on Jonathan’s Campaign Convoy

The former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has condemned violence attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign convoy in northern state of Nigeria. Abubakar, who perceives the attacks as a let down on the office of the president, stated that people show exercise their discontent in democracy through campaigns and voting during the elections. "I would like caution against the violence targeted at the president's campaign in some parts of Nigeria. This is wrong and inexcusable! While many may have real grievances against the president's leadership, the office of the president must never be disrespected.

"The best way to exercise discontent in a democracy is to channel energy into campaigning and voting during the elections," he stated on his twitter handle.
