The tanker was coming from the Oyo axis of the road when its brake failed and lost control while approaching the business area of Takie Ogbomoso, the driver maneuvered the roundabout crashing into the garage and hitting an on going motorcyclist (okada man). The tanker crash caused spillage of some of its content into the Takie car park and its drainage, flowing down to the clustered streets of the area.
Oyo State Fire Service was
contacted immediately and in no time they were on the spot before the fire broke out when the spill caught fire from a source unknown, tracing back to the tanker. No life was lost due to the fire outbreak but properties worth Millions was lost, places affected are; a viewing center located metres away, a milling shop, part of the mosque behind the park not leaving out the walls of Takie Post Office and windows of some offices.
'Yesterday i knew a lot of people could run faster than Usain Bolt said another eye-witness. Firemen made sure the fire was under control and as at this morning the remains of the fuel in the tanker was transferred into another tanker.

Accident is no stranger to that road, it was reported that a life was lost last Saturday on around that area due to a trailer accident. We pray we will never be victims of accident. We also sympathize with the families affected.
