Newborn babys missing placenta tears hospital apart in Ogun State

Falilat and Kayode
The father of a newborn baby, Kayode Alatise, caused a demonstrate at the Otunba Tunwase National Paediatric Centre, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in the region of Wednesday all once more again the alleged desertion of his babys placenta.
Alatise alleged that the hospital government told him harshly Monday as soon as his wife, Falilat, delivered their first baby that the placenta was missing.

He caused motion as he threatened doctors and nurses at the center located along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway.

The father of the baby insisted that neither him nor his wife was reach the babys placenta, postscript he rejected the placenta the hospital difficult attempted to compensation to him because he was not certain it was actually his babys own.

He said, We were referred to this hospital, and bearing in mind than we got here they demanded N230,000 for caesarian section. I was told that if I did not pay N50,000 gathering, they would not commence surgery. I begged them that night, but they said they would not make a get sticking to of of your hands on the operation until I paid. Before I got the child support, it was already
8am.

After the operation, my wife asked me if I had collected the placenta, but I told her no. The nurses and the ward security now came to publication me that they saw me once I went to the surgery room to concur the placenta.
After I  reported the matter to the police, they now called me to accustom that they had found the placenta. But how am I favorable that that is my babys placenta.  They told me upon Monday that the placenta had got drifting.

The Deputy Medical Director and Consultant Gynaecologist/Obstetrician, Dr. Oladayo Ogunlaja, who took delivery of the baby, denied the sworn notice that any placenta got missing.

Ogunlaja said the placenta was by yourself mistakenly taken into the hospitals laundry by the cleaning attendant who cleared out the Operating Room after Alatises wife was delivered of the baby.

He auxiliary that if Alatise was not certain that the placenta unmovable to him was his babys, he could get a scientific test to prove its genuineness.

He said, The cooperative was actually a referred tolerant. She was referred from the State Hospital, Ijebu Ode, upon Monday vis--vis 3am. She had been in labour, probably at a customary birth attendant center, and she was referred to the own happening hospital from where she was referred here.

On getting here, she didnt have money and there was no blood. Because of that, we could not obtain the surgery. We unaided admitted and stabilised her.

By 8am, we eventually had the caesarian section. The mother was good-natured and the baby was fine. The practice here is that placenta should be handed on severity of to the mom or father, but there was a amalgamation-going on. The father did not demand for it and the attendant that cleaned the rtoom proverb the nylon sack and took it beside to the laundry.

Around 7pm yesterday (Tuesday), that was more than 36 hours after, they now requested for the placenta and it became an matter. We started calling the workers that were functioning. We had delivered muggy to a thousand babies here and we have never had such an matter. So, we started searching.

Fortunately this day, we went to the laundry and lo and behold we saw the nylon sack linked to the decomposing placenta yet roomy subsequent to the blood. As soon as we found it, we called the people excited and we gave it to them.  It was the Chief Nursing Officer that gave the placenta as well as and I think he should be glad that the placenta has been steadfast idea to him.

If he is not certain that that is his babys placenta, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital has just built a accumulation investigative center where it can be tested. They can admit it there. But I am utter that is the placenta of the baby because all those babies that were delivered in the back and later times, their placentas were resolution to their parents.
