  Jay Z Designs Hublot Watch for $17 900 and $33 900
Jay Z partnered with Swiss watch maker Hublot for its limited edition wrist watch.
Known as Shawn Carter, Jay Z is one of the most successful artists and business moguls of today. Jay Z is also known as a fashion icon and an avid watch collector, including his collection of Hublot timepieces, Rolex, Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet.

Jay Z and Hublot already have an established relationship in the past. The rapper sang about Hublot watches in his 2011 hit “Otis”
This time, the two collaborated again for a new limited edition collection of watches in either black ceramic or yellow gold. The black ceramic costs $17,900 and will be limited to 250 pieces. The yellow gold which only comes in 100 pieces will be available for $33,900.

It will be launched this fall starting November 20, with the collection known as “Shawn Carter by Hublot” Classic Fusion watches. It comes in either black ceramic or 18k yellow gold design, 45mm wide, 90 hours of power reserve, slim case and alligator straps and contains a Hublot HUB1300 manually wound movement. Hublot watch collections are often skeletonized but with Jay-Z’s watches, there is a unique design on the dial.
The launching also comes with the Barney’s “A New York Holiday” shopping experience at the New York store.
“He fits perfectly well to our future consumer, which are the kids. Jay Z has an incredible audience among the young between 15 and 30. And they are the ones who will buy our watches in 10 years. The customer for now has never been our priority, we have always looked for the customer of tomorrow,” said Mr. Jean-Claude Biver, chairman of Hublot.

Mr. Biver joined the company in 2004 and in four years of leading the brand, Hublot’s turnover increased from $27 million to $275 million.
The brand has partnered with famous celebrity athletes and musicians as its ambassadors such as Chinese star Jet Li, NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, world’s fastest runner Usain Bolt and football club Paris Saint-Germain.
The brand caters to the young demographics that belong to the wealthy class.
