Brazilian midfielder Kaka has rejoined AC Milan from Real Madrid, the Italian Serie side confirmed on their official website. Kaka left AC Milan for Real Madrid for €65m in 2009, but only made 82 league appearances for the Spanish giants in his four years there as injuries limited his first-team opportunities.
It is believed that Kaka joins the Rossoneri on a two-year deal and has taken a significant pay cut to push the move through.
Kaka had told AS after Thursday’s Trofeo Teresa Herrera match at Deportiva La Coruna that he wished to lave Madrid, as he has found first team opportunities hard to come by despite the change in manager at the Bernabeu.
“I think now is the right time for me and for the club to leave amicably. I’ve spoken with (Madrid coach Carlo) Ancelotti and with the club, they all know,” said Kaka.
“My father is talking now with the club to try and resolve this situation.
“Things are now difficult for me in the team and the club know what I want. It’s my obligation to work hard and continue training, but my father is already working to see if something comes up. I think that it’s best for me and for the club.”
In his previous spell at Milan, Kaka won the Champions League once and the Serie A title once. AC Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani welcomed Kaka back to the San Siro, saying:
“Certain love affairs never end. They go a long way away and then come back.”
