51-year-old casket maker arraigned for raping an 8-year-old school girl

                   
Kayode Michael, 51, was arrested by the police at the Adeniji Adele Division, Lagos Island, after allegedly committing the offense at Odulami Street, Lagos Island, while the primary 3 girl was returning

from school.

The girl’s mom told the Police that her daughter told her that Michael, who is their co-tenant, waylaid her on her way from school, lured her to an alley along the street in the area and forcefully had sex with her. She said that her daughter was rescued by residents in the area who heard her shouting for help with blood gushing out from her private part.

She further told the police that she rushed her daughter to a hospital where doctors confirmed that her daughter had been deflowered by Michael, who also inflicted severe injury on her private part. During investigation, Michael allegedly confessed to the crime and said that the devil pushed him to commit it.

He promised not to do such again if set free. He however pleaded not guilty in the open court, and Magistrate Mrs O. A. Ogunbowale admitted him to bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must own a property on Lagos Island. Cc: Pmnews
