Soldiers Shoot Prof Abdullahi's Convoy for Overtaking in Bauchi

The vehicles of the Spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, Professor Ango Abdullahi NEF have been allegedly shot by soldiers. The incident happened when he was on his way to a meeting in Tirwun Village,  Bauchi State along Maiduguri Federal Highway.


Professor Abdullahi who is the Chairman Governing Council  of Bauchi State University Gadau said he woke up in the morning around eight o’clock to meet up with a meeting in the State University Gadau,  they got to Tirwun Village and saw a convoy of some soldiers they were driving slowly. His driver maneuvered and overtake them, but they hard sounds of gunshots, seven ,eight bullets hit their car and  demobilised their vehiclestheir. They managed to stop as the bullets didn’t hit anyone of them inside the vehicles.

when they came out, the soldiers came out shouting that the shouldn’t over taken them , because they are escorting sensitive materials.
He said he informed the State Commissioner of Higher Education Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu Mohammed who reached out to other Security agencies and the army.

Professor Abdullahi said The Army sent a captain who visited him and apologized he promised that the Brigade commander will make a report to army Headquarters in order to know the unit where the soldiers come from, because they didn’t inform them that they will pass through Bauchi.
