In the early hours of Sunday Feb 1, pipeline vandals hit at the Arepo area of Ogun State vandalising the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines in that area. The destruction of pipelines have cause huge explosion resulting to a heavy billow of fire in the area.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesman Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye said the incident occurred around 5.20am and that fighting experts from the NNPC have been deployed to the area to contain the fire.
However, the number casualties is still unknown, as NEMA struggles to put out the inferno.
