Explosion Kills One, Injures Many in Adamawa

A bomb explosion killed one and injured many in Lugda Village, Maiha Local Government area of Adamawa State. The victims were warming themselves by the side of a fire due to the harmattan weather, when one of them saw a polythene bag and picked it and threw it on the fire for more warmth.

However, the polythene bag caught fire and an improvised explosive device (IED) blew up killing one and injuring several others. The injured were taken to the Federal Medical Centre Yola the state capital for treatment.

Police spokesman DSP Othman Abubakar who confirmed the story, said it happened as a result of ignorance of the victims, who must have acted without knowledge of the contents in the polythene bag.
