Breaking News: Chelsea sign Loic Remy from QPR for £8 million after Torres’ departure
in a
move reminiscent of a scene from a spy movie, it was announced on
Friday night that Loic Remy had signed with Chelsea in a £8 million
move.
The
French striker has supposedly failed a medical with Liverpool two weeks
ago but he now has his chance with the Blues after Fernando Torres
agreed a two-year loan move to AC Milan.
Chelsea are said to have activated a 10million euros (£7.9million) clause in the 27-year-old's contract.
A
statement on the Chelsea website on Friday read: “Chelsea Football Club
and AC Milan have agreed terms for the two-year loan deal of Fernando
Torres to the Italian club.
“The move is now subject to Fernando agreeing personal terms with AC Milan and passing a medical examination.”
And
with that move confirmed, Jose Mourinho wasted no time in making sure
that he has three senior strikers in his squad by bringing in Remy, who
was on loan at Newcastle last season, where he scored 14 goals in 26
league appearances.
