Armed robber falls and dies instantly after stealing N1700 in OYO Town

A suspected armed robber in Oyo didnt have to wait very long to meet up with Karma after robbing a family within the state.

The unidentified man is said to have brandished an axe and a knife while robbing his victims, a mother and her daughter, who were resident in the Ayetoro Oroki place of Oyo town.


The robber is said to have stabbed the daughter but in an attempt to escape from the scene, he slipped and fell leading to his subsequent death.

The armed thief, whose identity was unknown, it was learnt, invaded the residence of the girl at about 2a.m. armed with an axe and a knife.

In order to instill fear in his victims, the armed man was said to have stabbed the girls daughter on the head with a knife, after which he collected their phones and a sum of N1,700.

In an try to escape, Crime Reports gathered that the fleeing thief stepped on water that had spilled upon tiles and fell headlong upon the ground, sustaining severe head injuries.

Bearing his pains, the one-man robbery gang managed to escape into the bush where a team of policemen from the Atiba Division later found him lying weakly upon the ground, with blood all over his body.

It was further gathered that he was rushed to General Hospital, Oyo, where he later died.

However, every the items he stole from the woman and her daughter were recovered from him, as well as the weapons he used during the robbery.
