REVEALED? The final 2013/14 Premier League table

The statistics boffins at Bloomberg Sports have crunched some numbers into their super computer and come up with a predicted 2013/14 Premier League table, which makes great reading for Chelsea fans…

The table indicates that this season will be a three horse race between Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United with only two points separating all three teams. Chelsea, boosted by the return of Jose Mourinho as Manager and the summer additions Mark Schwarzer, Marco van Ginkel and Andre Schurrle, will be crowned champions next year on 82 points, according to Bloomberg Sports, while Manchester City will beat Manchester United to second spot by the finest of margins.
At the bottom of the table, all three newly promoted teams are expected to face the drop for the first time since Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley and Crystal Palace were all relegated in 1998. Paolo Di Canio’s activity in the transfer market is expected to keep Sunderland in the Premier League.
“As fans around the world debate the 2013-2014 Premier League season from a purely subjective standpoint, we are adding our mathematically-derived predictions to the debate,” said Bill Squadron, President of Bloomberg Sports. “Using the same objective data analytics that drives our Match Analysis tool, we are pleased to unveil a purely data-driven projection for each team."
Interestingly, the boffins have also run the numbers for Spurs if Gareth Bale is sold and predicted that they will finish sixth in that instance, rather fifth if he goes, reducing their chances of a top four finish from 34 per cent to 20 per cent.
Of course, it is only a prediction, but the fact that Arsenal finish fourth suggests there is a certain amount of accuracy behind the numbers!
