Boy of 10 becomes Nigeria’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional

Seyi-Ojo Anjolaoluwa, a 10-year old JSS 1 pupil of Valencia College, Ibadan, Oyo State, has emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional and one of the youngest people in the world to attain such feat, joining including Lavinashree, an eight-year-old Indian, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani.

Anjolaoluwa participated in the MCIP test on July 24, 2012. He scored 869 out of possible 1,000. Due to his performance, he was adjudged by Microsoft as a certified professional in Microsoft Windows XP (Administration Management and Configuration, Exam 70 – 270).

However, rather than pursue a career in information technology, he said he prefers to be a medical doctor.
Microsoft Certifications are information technology professional certifications for Microsoft products. Individual certifications are received upon passing one or more exams. Like Apple, Cisco, Oracle, Red Hat and Ubuntu programs, the certifications mainly focus on their respective product, as opposed to employment aptitude tests designed for programmer trainee jobs.
